About
Last updated 8 November 2026
Catalog Sentry is built and run by Ohad Fisher, a sole proprietor in Israel. There is no larger company behind it, so when you write in, the person who reads your email is the same person who wrote the code. Work on it started in August 2026.
What it does
It compares what a Shopify store publishes with what Google and Meta actually hold for the same products, and points at the gaps that keep products out of shopping ads: missing images, empty product types, thin descriptions, variants without SKUs, and product pages with no Product structured data. It also checks whether those pages are readable by AI shopping assistants.
The free scan needs no install and no login. It reads only what any visitor can already see: the store's public /products.json catalogue and one product page.
The Shopify app
The app asks Shopify for read-only access to products and publications (read_products and read_publications). It cannot see your customers, orders or payments, and it never changes anything in your store. It costs US$49 a month after a 14-day free trial, billed through Shopify. The App Store listing is still in review, so for now you install it from catalogsentry.com/start. The pricing page has the details.
There is also an MCP server at catalogsentry.com/api/mcp that an AI agent can call without any credentials, described in llms.txt.
Where it runs
The app runs on Railway in the EU, its database is on Neon, and this site is hosted on Vercel. The privacy page says exactly what is stored and what gets deleted, and the terms cover the rest.
