Terms of Service

Last updated 11 August 2026

These terms govern the Catalog Sentry website at catalogsentry.com, the free public audit and its API, the Shopify app, and the MCP server (together, the Service). The Service is operated by Ohad Fisher, sole proprietor, Israel (we, us). Using any part of the Service means you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use it.

The two things worth reading before anything else. First: only submit a store domain you own or are authorised to check. Second: Catalog Sentry reports what it observes and does not guarantee that your products will be approved, advertised, or sold anywhere. You remain responsible for your own catalogue and for your relationships with Google, Meta and Shopify.

1. What the Service does

Catalog Sentry compares what a Shopify store publishes against what advertising and shopping channels hold, and reports differences. The free audit reads only what a store's own storefront already serves publicly to any visitor. The Shopify app reads, with the merchant's authorisation, the products and publications of the store that installed it.

2. Who may run an audit, and on which store

You may submit a store domain to the free audit or its API only if you own that store or are authorised by its owner to check it. You must not use the Service to systematically profile, monitor or harvest stores you have no relationship with, to build a competing dataset, or in any way that places an unreasonable load on a third party's storefront.

We read pages that are already public and unauthenticated. We do not circumvent access controls, passwords, paywalls or bot protection, and you must not use the Service to attempt it. We Disallow crawler access to audit URLs, rate-limit the number of pages read per request, and may block any domain, address or account at our discretion.

You are responsible for the domains you submit, and you agree to indemnify us against any claim arising from a domain you submitted that you were not entitled to submit.

This clause binds us too, with one narrow exception we state rather than hide: we run a small number of automated checks against a well-known public storefront, at most once a day, purely to confirm the Service itself is still working. It reads the same public pages any visitor reads, reports nothing about that store to anyone, and stores no catalogue content. If you operate a store and would rather it were never used this way, tell us and we will stop.

3. What we do not promise

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

In particular, and without limiting the above:

4. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, nor for lost profits, lost revenue, lost advertising performance, lost sales, lost or corrupted data, or business interruption, however caused and on any theory of liability, even if we have been advised of the possibility.

Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amounts you actually paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or US$100 if you paid us nothing — which is the case for every user of the free audit.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

5. Your responsibilities

6. Fees, billing and cancellation

The public audit at catalogsentry.com is free. The Shopify app is a paid subscription, currently US$49 per month with a 14-day free trial. All charges for the app are made through Shopify's Billing API: Shopify presents the charge, you approve it there, and Shopify's own billing terms and cadence apply. You can cancel at any time from your Shopify admin, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Uninstalling the app cancels the subscription.

Charges already billed are non-refundable except where required by law or where Shopify issues a refund under its own policies. We may change prices with notice; a change never applies to a period you have already paid for.

7. Your data

What the Service reads, stores and deletes is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. In short: the app requests read-only access to products and publications, never requests access to customers, orders or payment data, and deletes your data on uninstall.

Where we process personal data on your behalf as part of the app, you are the controller and we are the processor, and the Privacy Policy sets out the processing terms, our subprocessors, and how to exercise data-subject rights.

8. Intellectual property and no affiliation

The Service, its code, its wording and its benchmark dataset are ours. You keep everything of yours: your catalogue, your data, and the findings we produce about your own store, which you may use however you like.

Shopify is a trademark of Shopify Inc. Google and Google Merchant Center are trademarks of Google LLC. Meta, Facebook and Instagram are trademarks of Meta Platforms, Inc. Catalog Sentry is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or certified by any of them. Those names are used only to describe the systems the Service reads.

9. Aggregate and anonymous statistics

We compute benchmark statistics — for example "worse than 84% of the stores we have measured" — from audits that have been run. These are aggregate and anonymised: no store is identified, and no catalogue content is retained to produce them. We may publish such aggregates. If you would rather your audit was excluded, tell us and we will exclude it.

10. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service at any time, and uninstalling the app ends it entirely. We may suspend or end access — with notice where practical, immediately where not — if the Service is used in breach of these terms, in a way that harms a third party's storefront, or in a way that puts us in breach of Shopify's, Google's or Meta's terms.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top always says when. Material changes will be notified in the app or by email to the address on the account before they take effect, and continuing to use the Service after that is acceptance. If you do not accept a change, stop using the Service and cancel.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and the competent courts of Tel Aviv–Jaffa have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence.

13. Miscellaneous

If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest stays in force and that provision is limited to the minimum extent necessary. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these terms without our consent; we may assign them as part of a transfer of the business. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between us about the Service.
